Gerrard Capashen...how many blocks was he the main character for?

Not sure whether Karona or Gerrard are more important (one is the Avatar of Magic, the other is the Hero that beat the Big Bad) but neither of their cards are impressive, whereas basically every named Blue Wizard is still good to this day, even if you don't know what they did (the answer for nearly all of them is 'I knew Urza. That's pretty much all I did.' (Barrin, Teferi, Ertai, Jhoira, Tawnos....Urza picked up a lot of random Blue Wizards lol)

Lesson: White Warriors suck, Blue Wizards are broken.
Because Urza.

The artwork is perfect, but I agree with the others - the rest of this card doesn't do Gerrard justice.

He could have had first strike. His second ability could have cost White with a once-a-turn-only restriction*.
Heck, he could have even gotten away with a cost of 2WhiteWhite (indirectly upgrading his first ability).
     (*Seriously, were they afraid 2White would be abusable because you'd actually consider paying it twice once in a while?)

And since it's Gerrard, I would have seen nothing wrong with him having all of this instead.
Also he's part of Urza's bloodline project, which means even the storyline agrees that this would be reasonable.

Gerrard simply has two different abilities...

...The first one you gain life for each card in your opponents hand at the beginning of your upkeep each turn.

...The second you can pay 3W to tap creatures, but only when Gerrard is declared an attacker during a combat phase.
