It was made all the obsolete, provoke untaps the defending creature too.

I agree that provoke in general is more useful than that, but at least you can probably make use of the ability multiple times and also make two or more creatures block it.

Also i like how this Battle Royale Box Set print has a rarity-adapted silver Tempest symbol.

Nice flavour, but the activation cost is steep.
