How I love the spikes. This is one of the more playable ones since a 4/4 for 5 isn't outrageous. Moving the counters is valuable too, since if you can afford this you have enough mana to drop to buff one of your creatures in the next turn or so, and this can still live comfortably as a 3/3 or maybe even 2/2.

The spikes are best in team games obviously, where you can use them to mess up combat, rescue the creatures of teammates or create interesting combos. Doesn't mean that all spikes are good, but I think they are fun nonetheless.
