All in all, depending on how you want to destroy your opponent, any 2mana land from the ravnica block works in combination with Wirewood Lodge. It's not necessary to run Gaea's Cradle, although it is more effective and doesn't reduce your land advantage.

Generally you'll get something useful (x-wise) off with any combination, such as:

Green/White: Decree of Justice, infinite angels
Green/Black: Drain life, take a guess
Green/Red: Banefine/Comet Storm/Pyromatics, damage
Green/Blue: Stroke of Genius, Draw your opponent out

Freed from the Real is indeed a powerful card, but it forces you to run blue, not that that generally puts you at a disadvantage, but the other colors have more X bombs to use with the infinite mana.

This plus Maze of Ith provides infinite mana during your attack phase.

Combo's mentioned above can be countered, redirected, ... but more importantly, they depend on more cards if playing in multiplayer. I suggest following combo: Freed from the Real + Psionic Gift and 2 Islands is enough to destroy everyone.

I used it a few times (supported with Leyline of Anticipation, Leyline of Lifeforce and a few Privileged Position), by the time my opponent realized what was coming, it was already too late. Especially when you keep him busy with big green creatures.
The times after the first party, my opponents knew about the combo and saved spells to break it, but were smashed by the big creatures. I had my fun playing with this little creature and seeing the look in the eyes of my opponents once they realized what they were up against. Ha!

This card shouldn't just be compared with Garruk, for the very reason AgesofThunder wrote. Simic Growth Chamber + Freed from the Real + any basic land. Unlimited mana. Personally, blue and green aren't my colors, but just drop that swamp and I have all the mana I'll ever need. Or that mountain, Banefire.

In fact, very reliable blue instant kill exists.

Turn 1:
Forest, Lotus Petal, Dark Ritual, Argothian Elder.

Turn 2:
Island. Attack with Elder. Play Crop Rotation, sacrifice forest and get Maze of Ith. Unlimited blue mana when Elder still attacking. Play Blue Sun's Zenith or Stroke of Genius.

Somehow I think this card could be easily abused.

Perhaps enchanting it with freed from the real or pemmin's aura to untap 1 blue mana producing land and then another land that taps for x color mana to produce an extra UX, using U to untap the elder then tapping it again so your two lands can then produce UXX and so on... Something like that.

Ah, a nice simple infinite combo. Slap Freed from the Real on him and go to town!
