I call on the ancient magics.... to get girls!

Well, why do you think I became an evil mastermind?

You get to tutor 2 cards out of 50. They get to tutor 3 cards out of 150. Even though you choose last, odds are the scheme will be to your disadvantage, *especially* if the current board position is in your favour. Unless, as others have mentioned, you use it to get combo pieces of instant win, if your casual group doesn't outright ban those.

One of the better of the double-edged sword schemes, because you see what your opponents are getting, and can fetch your own counters to them. Unfortunately, that kind of defeats the purpose of the scheme, which is to fetch you 2 combo-pieces.

The trouble here is that your opponent gets to fetch a free Magister Sphinx or something to screw you over, so the only way to get good use out of this scheme is if you're pulling out combo pieces that make you win right there, in which case, that's kinda lame.

Well, it helps both sides, but look, you'll fetch two cards, while each opponent just one. I know, if you're playing against three guys they will get three cards in total, so they will get one more card, but c'mon! Archenemy has a big brain, that means he's a Johnny, and having the opportunity of fetching two combo-making cards is lotta good.

This card reads: Get the Heroes to thank you for destroying the best cards in their deck. Not necesarily in that order. >:D

This card would be relatively unimpressive compared to a simple Diabolic (let alone Demonic) Tutor, if it weren't for the crucial unevenness of information!

Don't think of this as a 'real' tutor--real tutor's get you card quality and sometimes even card advantage. Three heroes that are going into a Fortress KNOWING you are an evil bastard out to kill them and you give them each a tutor? they WILL get more and better cards than you.

Rofl-lol you sneaky bastard....you WANT this to happen!!!!

You get see what they get, and you know whether or not you need to search out Wrath of God, or Counterspell, or Mind Shatter. Maybe you just need a good ol' fashioned Disk. This is the Next Level of Painful choice cards-- if they get 'bad' stuff, knowing you are trying to draw out their champions, then you can get something that's just bigger and meaner. If the... Very risky scheme, since as pointed out it's really only that great if you're down to 1 opponent OR if you're getting combo pieces – but since you can't control when it comes down, and your opponents are also liable to search out combo pieces (just one per, but that may be all they need), you better make damn sure you can win when this flips. Which, as I said, you can't, because it's randomized.

Still, of the "may hurt you more than it helps you" Schemes, it's probably one of the better ones. And it can certainly be good if played in the right deck; tutoring out two cards before your pre-combat main phase for no mana investment can end the game easily assuming you've had enough turns to get a little mana on the table. And your opponents won't get any use out of those cards if they're, you know, a pile of goo.

These scheme names are pretty fun to randomly autocard in casual forum posts.
