@Gezus82: It's definitely not "strictly better" than Incinerate. It can only damage players (in addition) if the targeted creature has Infect, which when taken to formats like Legacy and Vintage, is VERY unlikely...

Much less effective outside Mirrodin, but in it it pulls double duty.
Anyone else think it looks like a buzz-saw made of fire? (which is just awesome)

This set needed more anti-infect cards like this and Melira's Keepers for Mirrans to stand a better chance. I love rooting for the underdog and all, but I also don't like lost causes.

How I see any Mirran Vs. Phyrexian battle going down.
Player 1: "I'll play a mountain and end my turn."
Player 2: "I'll play a forest. Tap and play Sol Ring. Tap Sol Ring and play an Ichorclaw Myr"
Player 1: 0_0! "I'll play a plains and tap both my lands and play Burn the Impure. KILL IT!!!! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!!"

Just to troll players, Wizards should have had a Phyrexian Crusader getting torched in the art.

Because if flame DID kneel to phyrexia, we'd have burn cards that have infect!
Looking at cards like Puncture Bolt and Puncture blast infect burn would be very high costed if it hit players.

How this card reads to me:
Dear Red,
You will be seeing a lot more infect after Besieged.
Sincerely,
-Wizards
