@Bulhakas
The card represents white taken to its extreme, the totalitarian xenophobia that results from focusing on the needs of the group over the needs of the individual. In Norn's Machine Orthodoxy, any being who isn't perfectly in unison with her vision dies. There is only the one, only the whole, everything that cannot be assimilated into the whole is killed.

How did Lady Gaga make it onto a magic card? I didn't know they were allowed to use photographs for card art...

I just realized each of the Praetors seems to have a "signature spell", a la the M11 planeswalkers.
Elesh Norn - Norn's Annex
Jin-Gitaxias - Gitaxian Probe
Sheoldred - Reaper of Sheoldred
Urabrask - Priest of Urabrask
Vorinclex - this is the iffy one. Unlike the other four, nothing else in the block has his name in it ... but guess which green sorcery showed up in Mirrodin Beseiged that actually shows Vorinclex in its art?
That's right. Praetors' Counsel.

I think this gal is my favorite Praetor. No contest.
She is the paragon of Phyrexia, that corrupts everything it touches. It's like the beauty and elegance of White were twisted, mutilated and deformed to give birth to her. This flowing silken gown, this elegant demeanor on a being that looks like a perversion of everything that is female, a Barbie doll straight out of a madman's fever dream. For the people out there who make fun of her faceplate, remember that she leads a mockery of a religion and as such it makes sense she would wear a ridiculously exaggerated hat. Pope hats are extravagant enough on their own.
She embodies the ideal of White, to defend and protect, but she embodies it wrong. She shelters her own but simultaneously breaks down her opponent, a very Black shtick, that. Quite Phyrexian.
And then there's the whole backstory about her and the sickening parody of a "religion" she leads, the Machine Orthodoxy.
Very eerie and very Phyrexian. More so than any of th... (see all)

I cannot adequately express how much hatred I have for this card. I have lost SO MANY games to it, it just makes me want to tear my hair out every time someone resolves one against me.
Other than that, great card :)
