My friend was playing malfegor as his hellbent commander. I was playing geth. He dropped a lion's eye diamond, cracked it to activate the ability on some creature, I had a single swamp untapped, and a viscera seer out. I responded by recurring the LED, cracking it for {B}{B}{B}, then repeat the process 50679843 times, then recurred and sacced everyone's dudes Over and over, and milled everyone's deck!
He doesn't play with LED anymore....

Back the first time through Mirrodin, they when they were printing Glissa, Bosh, Slobad and many of the other characters from Mirrodin's backstory, I wondered why they had ignored Geth.
I guess he who lasts the longest wins...

@Mattmedia
According to the rulings on Training Grounds:
"Training Grounds can reduce the amount you pay for a creature's activated ability cost that includes {X}. For example, Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief has an activated ability that costs {X}{B}{B}. If you control Training Grounds and you activate the ability with X equal to 5, you'll have to pay only {3}{B}{B}. This is true even if the ability states that {X} must be paid with a certain color of mana, as Crimson Hellkite's ability does."
@Frostraven
Even though it does mill, I wouldn't put this in a blue/black control mill deck. Milling with this guy isn't the destination, it's the path. When you take a creature from their graveyard, his mill replenishes their graveyard with more creatures for you to take. I'm putting my copy in mono black.

People, Intimidate is not "sort of evasion" it is evasion. We don't call flying "sort of evasion" just bacause there are other creaures with flying and reach do we?
That being said, I love a 5/5 with evasion and a nifty ability for cmc. This is my new excuse to use Dark Ritual again.

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite card on the Gatherer.

5/5 and im not talking about P/T ;)
This card is a perfect example of good design.
It's more or less "on the curve" with 5/5 + an keyword abillity.
It's very flavorful and very fitting to blacks color identity (fear, milling, graveyard recursion).
It's even a good example of good usage of mythic rarity because it's legendary.
It promotes intelligent play! You can't netdeck and play this card to it's full advantage.
"Should I use all my Mana on the next creature?"
"Should I revive something for 3 Mana and save 2 for a Doom Blade?"
"Should I strive for the biggest, yet useless thing to mill more in hope for a better target or should I rather take a small but useful Mana Myr?"
More Cards like this please!

Card advantage, mill, and a big, somewhat evasive creature. Nomnomnom. A limited bomb in the truest form, though it'll be questionable as to how much constructed application it might have.

Anyone notice how good he is with nirkana revenant? If you have the mana to play them both that means with Nirk Revenant out you have access to 12 mana. and if you play the revenant first then geth comes into play with six additional mana still available for his delightful ability. And thats just assuming you didnt draw another land in that time. and as a side note. Geth is sooooooooooo good against allies. It's like, well I was playing discard, but now I think I'll just do what you were doing. Kthanx
