Every blue deck I've ever made has had 4 prodigal sorcerers in it. Well 1 Prodigal Sorcerer along with a Capricious Sorcerer and 2 Roo***er Hunters but they're all Tims. also, works great with Aphetto Alchemist.

Blue's most iconic creature from the early days, before Wizards realized that assigning blue "the color of magic" in a game called Magic would mean that blue could do everything.
I never did learn why everyone called this guy Tim. (Zuran Spellcaster was called "Zim" for obvious parallel reasons.) The name seems to have stuck well -- "timming" as "tap for 1 damage" is ubiquitous and I've even heard new players who joined in the fun after 7th edition recognize this guy and call him Tim.
Why not Bill, or George, or anything but Sue?

@ Salient
Its from tim the enchanter in monty python and the holy grail. Once you see the seen where they first see him and the magic he's doing, you'll get it. He appears to be "Pinging".

The 1 point of damage is him smacking you around with that beak.
