Abuse him using a bunch of baubles and cheap sac-to-generate-mana mana stones.


I kind of wish it was a lhurgoyf construct.

You don't see a lot of non-artifact constructs running around; in fact, he's the only one. So, what is he constructed out of?

When I first saw this, I did a quick Gatherer search; had there really never been an artifact Lhurgoyf before? Apparently not. Of course it's red, too. The lack of the Lhurgoyf type annoyed me, but then, it doesn't really look like its kin so much.

Then I saw the mana cost. Wizards, you owe me half a glass of soda.

What the SHIT were they thinking? This isn't like Terravore, "Oh, lands are real hard to get into the graveyard, let's knock a mana off the cost for their trouble." No, artifacts are probably the easiest type to get into the grave. There are artifact creatures to sac, artifacts that sacrifice themselves, even goddamn ARTIFACT LANDS.

There's no evasion, true, but that'll be little consolation to you when some red raffinity-loving mage feeds this like 50 baubles on the second turn and hits you with it, probably accompanied by a Ravager. What the ***, Wizards!?

Perhaps the most dangerous card printed in New Phyrexia.

I mean, Terravore was 1GG and people still broke it. -Goyf, -atog, two classes of creatures that are just about the most prone to being broken. This is one mana.

Such an odd card - the mana cost makes you want to play it early, but his ability makes you want to play it late.
