Blocks as a 3/3 if you're doing it right. I love how it is so versatile, it can:

1. Avoids sorcery mass removal
2. Beat face in control decks (as with most other manlands)
3. Blocks for you
4. Enables combo cards based on artifacts such as Tinker and on creatures such as Polymorph
5. Prevents your opponents from "forcing" you to sacrifice a creature (provided it is untapped)

I also enjoy how it fit's into almost any deck I make, and performs flawlessly in almost all of them.

@EvilCleavage
Plural doesn't have ' inbetween word and s. So it's foils not foil's etc.

I can't believe that I got this card finally!! I had to buy three Dual Decks and trade a buddy to get 4 of these! But it was sooo worth it! Not bad for sixty bucks eh? 3 Elspeth's, 3 Tezzeret's, 3 Mishra's Factories, 6 Swords to Plowshares, 3 Master of Etheriums, 3 Steel Overseers, 3 Loyal Sentry's, 3 Crusade's, a few Foil's, artifact lands, and a couple other rares and good uncommons and commons. Shoot, I probably missed a few cards.

BUY THIS DECK IF YOU CAN! IT IS SERIOUSLY ONE OF THE BEST DEALS OUT THERE. $20.00 baby.

But anyways, this card is seriously a classic that is always good! Personally, I play the four of these I have in a BlueWhite Control and it's awesome because it doesn't die to mass removal. Just play your Day of Judgment's or Wrath of God's and then hit 'em next turn or even the same turn with a couple of these and a Celestial Collonade. This card wasn't used for years and years in tourney's for no reason.

This card is too cool. Especially when used with Master of Etherium. The assembly-worker hits the table at 3/3 and makes your Master even more powerful.
Anyone who loves and uses this card as I do (this probably means you, Evil) should also consider using Blinkmoth Nexus as well.
I use this in a mono blue control deck with Master of Etherium as the only other creature. 4 of this and 4 Blinkmoth Nexus. It pretty much makes my Master a better version of Morphling with summons instead of flying and shroud. Yes, it's ridiculous.

- Death from above, or death from below?
The choice is yours, but death is inevitable

The only thing that ever bugged me was this: I've tried to figure out how Melvin-y this card is, and what I come up with is that you should ignore that this taps for mana, correct?

In order to use both of its other abilities to the best possible efficiency, you need a second land to make the mana to activate it's animation ability so it can still tap to give itself +1/+1.

I'm irritated at how long it took me to figure this out, because for such a hyped card that I'm too young to have played against the original version of, I kept expecting it to have everything it needed by itself. :P This doesn't really detract from other people's evaluations of it though. :) It's definitely a powerful land.

I am wondering though-- if Urza's Factory is overpriced and Mishra's Factory is underpriced, how much mana do think would be fair to make an Assembly Worker? 3? 4?

Ever since this card first came out I played with 4 in every deck, they added mana, and rolled people, Mishra's Factory (Also known in these parts as "The Union") was even more fun in multiplayer games, when there were like 10 or more of them on the table, someone attacked with one and then The Union voted across the table and someone (usually refered to ash "The Man") got stuck with 12 damage.

When Standstill came out they got even better, with all the new creature lands being printed.

The artwork is cool, but it doesn't really say "Mishra's Factory" to me.

@DarthParallax: Come on man, it's pretty easy to figure out how much an Assembly-Worker costs.

About as much as a morph creature.
