Why on earth would wizards want to make a mythic rare removal spell?
And also, personally I would prefer if they made the red mana colorless rather than split second.

All the other creature removal spells wish they were this card.
The two-color cost is the balancing factor, of course, and it's now vulnerable to two different colors of protection, but if you can run it instead of pretty much any other removal spell, you probably should.
