This card is powerful enough for vintage artifact decks. Frequently dropable on the first turn with mishra's workshop and any other acceleration like the moxes, or a sol ring. These decks used to run Juggernaut (there was nothing better!) and this is a clear improvement. Sure, you would prefer your Tangle Wires, or trinisphere first turn, but this combines the price increase mechanic that is necessary to win, with your actual win condition!

Hey, guess what? Here's Scars. Format broken wide open? Nope.

A colorless deck looks like a strong option once alara rotates out of standard.

I put a 5 because I can, and because this card is going to get abused every which way when Scars of Mirrodin comes out.

This card is incredibly nasty towards multicolor cards which are generally undercosted due to the complexity of their mana costs. In addition to fixing their mana, opponents are forced to ramp up into more mana to pay for spells, or slow-roll them until they can remove the golem.

I'm thinking about putting 4 in a colorless artifact deck with 4 each of these lands:
Urza's Mine
Urza's Tower
Urza's Power Plant
Cloudpost
Glimmerpost
Vesuva
I like mana.

Got this pulled on me on turn 1 once...Brutal. Followed by a turn 2 Crucible of Worlds and Strip Mine, but that's another story X_X
