Simply amazing Zombie.
Cycle it for some extra land early game, then use it to shave mana off his total cc when you get your hands on his sidekick Zombify. Congratualtions, you've just controlled the game with a regenerating blocker worth it's weight in any good zombie deck.

I use this as a finisher in my black control deck. The other person can't keep anything down, and unless they're running white they'll have a hard time taking this guy out.

This guy can be an unforeseen powerhouse in the right deck. His Swamp-cycling ability is great for getting land, but after he hits the graveyard, use a reanimation spell like Exhume, Reanimate, or Animate Dead, he can be played much earlier. Combine with Death Baron, and you have a 6/4 Regenerating, Deathtouching wall.

A surprisingly interesting creature. I often let friends new to the game get comfortable with Drudge Skeletons or Craw Wurm before introducing them to somebody a little more... versatile. Like this guy.

Ah, this card brings back fond memories of my first black deck I ever made. It was a mix of random commons and uncommons, whatever I could get my hands on at the time. Cards like Shimian Night Stalker, Bog Wraith, Abyssal Specter. At the time, I was under the impression that a 5/3 with regen for 6 mana was unstoppable and adding this creature to my deck would make it unbeatable.
Reflecting back on this card now, it's definitely not as unstoppable like I thought it was back then, but still pretty impressive. The real strength of this card is flexibility and utility it offers. You can pitch at instant speed to a grab a land with the basic land type of swamp including Watery Grave, Also, sending it to graveyard early on isn't a bad thing considering you are playing a color that reanimates. You only have to keep one mana open for the regen allowing it to be an aggressive attacker or solid blocker turn afte... (see all)

Gets you over the 2/3-mana hump if you didn't draw into land and also doubles as your finisher if you wish. Deceptively good and is the only mono-black swampcycling card.
