I love good blue beatdown. Innistrad has made me happy so far on that one.

If you get this guy at draft/sealed, PLAY HIM.

You'll thank me later.

Every time I look at this I think it's an uncommon. Yea, 3/4 flier for 3 that costs a creature in the yard is simply amazing at common.

Consistent win condition in my self-milling, efficient blue/red beatdown prerelease deck. Limited beauty.

Illusionary Servant -> Stitched Drake
Phantom Beast -> Makeshift Mauler
I certainly like this drawback a bit better.

I love the flavor of this card. My Diregraf Ghoul gets ripped to bits and ends up in the graveyard. Not to worry, we'll stitch what's left of it and some wings & parts together to make a better zombie that flies. And the original is exiled because it no longer exists.

And the art is great.

Graveyard as a resource = interesting.

This will found its way into "normal" blue decks, and Skaab Ruinator will be the centerpiece in many decks based entirely on milling yourself. It's very interesting that the same mechanic, with different numbers, will produce cards suitable for two very distinct decks.

Hey look, a playable Drake! Too bad it had to die first...

Not nearly as good as its legendary counterparts wormfang drake and serendib efreet. Same 3/4 flier for 3, but with a tougher mana requirement and a wonky tribute.

I'm looking at it now and it would work great with the evoke elementals from lorwyn block. Turn two evoke something, turn three remove the evoked creature with the drake. The evoked creatures also have enters-the-battlefield abilities that work great with wormfang drake...hmm, i'm getting ideas...

This card was my saving grace in drafts. Both a solid defense against flyers and good offense at its cost is invaluable in Limited.
