Reminds me of Phyrexian Colossus...I prefer this guy, cuz you don't have to pay the life...but then again, you could just Voltaic Key either of them
Edit: Wait, Colossus can't be blocked except by 3+ creatures, plus no mana required to untap, so it makes a nice finisher when you destroy the rest of them...maybe Colossus is better...

The most recent art of this card should have been used for a better creature...One of my favorite artworks ever. Possibly "The Elder Colossus" 13/15 for 14 colorless trample and indestructible....Take that BS and DS Colossi!

By itself it has a pretty hefty cost to use every turn, but even back when this was printed there were plenty of ways to sidestep it. Instill Energy, Twiddle, the otherwise mediocre Jandor's Saddlebags, even Paralyze could be repurposed to be beneficial.
These days there are tons of options: Thousand-Year Elixir, Puppet Strings, Voltaic Construct, Voltaic Key (and its touched-in-the-head cousin Galvanic Key), Staff of Domination, Filigree Sages, Umbral Mantle (which is just plain wrong), Clock of Omens, Aphetto Alchemist... it's long, long list. The card may as well not have the built-in untap cost at all.
Finally, try Dance of the Dead with this in your graveyard. ... (see all)
