I could be wrong, but this seems to be the most reprinted Red Spell in the game.
This is FIRE, just as Lightning Bolt is LIGHTNING.
If I was given the keys to Richard Garfield's Vault (you know, the one where all these 15 Mythic Boxed Sets are coming from) and told to make some kind of 'Super Icons Deck' for each color, using cards that any new player could master in a day but the pro's would still play years later, I cannot possibly imagine not using 4x Lightning Bolt and 4x Fireball in the Red Deck.
Out of all 17,000+ -something cards, Fireball and Lightning Bolt are two of a VERY select, magical few that can exist in a COMPLETE vacuum, outside of the context of THE ENTIRE GAME, and still make perfect sense and be awesome.

Erik's Random card 6/3/2011
Magic 2010 was my first development lead. We have uncut sheets of Beta cards near where I work, and I would frequently walk by to compare the two sets to see if there was a good lesson to learn from Beta.
Some of the common and uncommon cards in the design file were cut to simplify the set; there was a balance of simplicity and flavor, and those cards were not delivering on the fantasy flavor enough to justify their complexity.
To me, Fireball is the epitome of the flavor justifying the complication. While developers go over every card (except, perhaps, the basic lands), at no point was Fireball in jeopardy of leaving the set. It is awesome!

Removal, 2-for-1, 3-for-1, Game-ender. Just hope they don't Fork it, cause there's will resolve first.
