2/4 with Reach gets the job done, especially with Giant Growth to give a +3/+3 instant-speed boost. Which is why both the Spider and the Growth have been in every core set from Alpha to M10, and why both will be in Magic 2011.

Well, M12 has made him the official core-set champ. Giant Growth is out for (ugh) Titanic Growth.

Well, it wouldn't be core set without this guy. He's a good way for newbies to know that Green hates flyers and has ways to deal with them.

Should have been a Plated Spider from the beginning. Serra Angels, Air elementals, and Sengir Vampires, and green couldn't do anything about it.
