I think this will become much more relevant after Scars block rotates a year from now and it doesn't have to fear Dismember from every single deck killing it easily.

Awkward template much?
If "Indestructible" were a keyword that could be used outside of complete sentences, this could read:
Defender, Indestructible
: Until end of turn, Manor Gargoyle loses defender and indestructible and gains flying.

OK, I take it back. Played this in casual Cube with That Which Was Taken, and the awkward template allowed me to attack with a flying indestructible 4/4.

Indestructible isn't a keyword. It's an ability word. At least, I think that's how it works. Indestructible is not like flying or defender, I know that much. It's about how the rules interact with it that dictate the awkward wording. Indestructible is something you are, not something you have. It's like, being a creature.
Manor Gargoyle is a creature. Manor Gargoyle is indestructible.
You can't say 'Manor Gargoyle loses indestructible' and you can't say 'Manor Gargoyle loses being a creature.'
What they COULD do is make a new keyword to replace the old ability word: Indestructibility. Then you might say 'Manor Gargoyle loses indestructibility.' But that feels like it softens Indestructible. The statement 'X is indestructible' is as powerful, elegant, and imposing as 'Destroy all creatures'.
You try messing around with how they word Wrath of God, and then maybe you can get them to change how they use Indestructible. For basically every other part of Magic except the unfor... (see all)
