A great card, a Gray Ogre which regenerates, which begs the question, why does Gray Ogre exist???

Red creatures don't really regenerate. This and Eron the Relentless are pretty much it for red creatures (that don't try to involve another color) that you can make regenerate. Red's burn has great synergy with this card, actually, and Uthden Troll is much better than it looks because of it. Hardly a bomb or anything, this troll plays much better than he looks (because he admittedly looks quite average).

@Shadoflaam: Only three trolls are red. Two of them are from Alpha and the third is also green. Trolls are mostly green.

More to the point, why is Grey ogre not grey?
The regen ability is reason enough to have him nowadays, if not for the utter nostalgia, then most definately for what Malachorn has pointed out.
