Probably better than Where Ancients Tread, since it works with small creatures, too, and gives a bigger effect with bigger creatures. The higher cost probably isn't too big of a deal, if you're playing a deck that can support big enough creatures to make it worthwhile.

I'm confused as to how this functions with a living weapon. Will the germ get the added P/T before this hits the stack, since the equipment gets attached before checking state-based effects, or will it be added on the stack when it's still a 0/0? I feel like it would, since I anticipate cards that come in with +1/+1 counters would get to do their full damage.

Can't wait to get a copy of one of these for my Mayael the Anima edh deck. With this in play, Tooth and Nail into Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Blightsteel Colossus. That's two opponents dead right there.
