Well unfortunately that mana cost of {1}{R}{R} is a bit more restrictive than one would have liked. That said, I always enjoyed walls that had power greater than 0. A wall with 0 power can be attacked into all day, whereas one with some power is at least able to threaten smaller creatures. That said, {R} was never very good at playing defensivecontrol (at least in the sense of control similar to {U}{W}...although {R}{B} aggro creature control is definitely out there). The 5 toughness helps this card out immensely but it is still fragile at best.

Wall of Fire has always had really awesome flavor text.

A decent wall, the firebreathing ability makes this slightly playable...

DRCCOTD #1: Wall of Fire.
A 0/5 with defender, and the ability to firebreath. This is an interesting card because it doesn't fit very well into the theme of what red is generally trying to do. Red generally wants you dead, right about now. This card really doesn't support that aim from red at all.
As a defensive card as well, this compares poorly to other cards in other colours that do similar things. For example from modern sets, Wall of Frost is a modern take on this card that is much better. Costing 1UU, it is in a colour that is more interested in a defensive creature, and it can "handle" two creatures at once. While Wall of Fire can block and kill things, red doesn't generally want to be doing that. Other recent cards it compares poorly to include Wall Of Omens or Wall of Denial
If Wall Of Fire was printed in a modern set (and it was as recently as M10), I think it would (and it did) be a fringe playable limited car... (see all)

Firebreathing is mainly useful in an offensive way, i don't want to spend my mana for pumping up a Wall with 0 power, especially if i could easily use that mana to burn down the threat i'm going to block instead.
Playing red in a defensive way was never a really good idea.

Few people I know ever played walls, but the Firebreathing (appropriately here too, though the old rule books called it "Inflatable") means it can actually hurt attackers pretty well too.
