Been one of my favorite cards ever since I got the Comeback theme deck. Makes Slay, Execute, Dead Ringers, etc. awesome.

This effect, onto a permanent, should be reprint in the Ravnica block (see my commentary here). Could be a mana producing spells for Convoke too.

Deathmark is a sorcery, and Slay is an instant that cantrips for 2Black. I would run slay all day over the mark in a shifting sky deck.

Not just good for enabling color-hater cards, also good for avoiding the same. My wizard deck has fizzled many a Terror in its day. The relevant creature types also make this a useful little guy in the right deck.

Honestly? How do you even mention those types of removals without mentioning Deathmark? That's almost blasphemous.

Also, if you want to be a serious about that type of removal, you can always do Shifting Sky, then it just kinda drives the point home.
