Err... Ace? 95% of all discard is sorcery speed. Because WOTC is smart enough to know that instant speed discard can very quickly become a total lockdown.

This is somewhat interesting; I think if you use a ramp card that gets huge easily (songs of the damned) you could use this early game and hit for three. That said, there are much better cards if you're generating 6 mana..

@sir_dwar: I agree. Obviously all sorceries are better if made instants, but the slower speed is a balancing factor.

That said, this card honestly isn't likely to see a whole lot of yes. 1 discard for two mana, and not even randomized discard or distress is simply underwhelming. The majority of starting hands has 1 or 2 cards that don't belong in an early game hand, which is exactly what will be discarded by this.

By the Time you were to hit 6 mana in a black deck (assuming you don't have mana-ramp, something that is uncommon but possible in black), your opponent will almost certainly have less than 4 cards in his hand, and probably will only have 1 or 2 he is simply waiting to dump.

Although, decks that rely on frequent draws, Multiplayer matches where people are hesitant to summon things, or mana-ramp decks could make some use of this.
