Remind anyone else of a white version of Todd Macfarlane's Spawn?
4/5 for artwork alone, but this should have gotten more love rather than simply french vanilla'd.

Incredible flavor, which they did more with it though, it certainly deserves it. O well...

He's a solid little dude and all, good at what he does, but with that art I was expecting something much cooler.

In my opinion Thunder Spirit can be better since the first strike but theyre both pretty amazing creatures either way

This really shouldn't be compared to a card in a different rarity. Of course most uncommons are going to be better than most commons, just like most rares are going to be better than most uncommons, and most mythics are going to be better than most rares. If the card quality was the same in each rarity, there wouldn't be any point in having a rarity system to begin with.
I have to say that this card impresses me. I think its a very pickable white common, probably one of my top 5 white commons in the set for a limited format. That 3rd point of toughness really makes a difference. Far superior to Abbey Griffin in the same set. Very well costed, especially as a common. 4/5.

Yeah it's not as good as Vampire Nighthawk, but I am interested in seeing what a format would be like without lots of insanely efficient creatures. They scaled back power creep on purpose to give us more time to do cool yet slower things. I can't wait to start some graveyard shenanigans and not have to worry about being overrun on turn 4.

Can't compare between rarities.

Frankly, I prefer Kemba's Skyguard and Leonin Skyhunter for the same cost, and for the same mana-intensity, respectively.
In-set, it's a good card. Survives most of the more intimidating fancy 2-drops your opponent is going to be throwing around, including the maindeck-worthy Elite Inquisitor, and the long-anticipated Black Grizzly Bears.
It's solid, it swings in for the evasive damage that wins you games, and it survives most things that can block it.

Predictable, given Talon Trooper. But yeah... Vampire Nighthawk continues to make everybody look bad.
