@ Polychromatic Monarch, not Matriarch.

@Alsebra - He does have a legitimate comment. He was not stating that the picture expressly stated that the creature was male, just that there was no indication it was female either. He assumed Polychromatic read the name as matriarch and that was the basis for him calling the card female. I'm inclined to agree that that was probably his basis as I see no other aspect of the card that gives the indication that it's female.

@Aidan_McDermott - 'Monarch' is a gender-neutral term for a ruler. If the card had said 'patriarch', you'd have a legitimate comment...

Combos with Horned Kavu, which you can keep casting and returning to make this guy huge.

That's what a female Kavu looks like?

Now that's a tribal lord! Into the changeling deck it goes.

That's a great lord. It's a 3/3 trampler for four, which is already acceptable. And it also grows over time (which goes very well with it's trample) AND buffs your other kavu.

You don't heed a strict tribal deck to play it either, I think. In a casual environment, just slap four of these and four flametongue kavu into a deck. The ftk's will burn away opposition and have the monarchs grow. And the monarchs prevent the ftk's from being chump blocked. Well, and make each other grow, and prevent each other form being chump blocked.

Great for T4-T5 after you've killed something with Flametongue; as flametongue is top heavy and thus *really* likes getting trample.

Both good and bad that it's a 4 drop; as it's competing with lots of good stuff right there; and it's getting to the point in the game you might not be able to make him grow very quickly.
