Still see this guy played in Saproling decks, and why not? He's big, he buffs, and he brings friends!

This guy is really good and flavorful, but requires a lot of mana acceleration.
Good in an elves deck with great mana acceleration to fill the battlefield of saprolings and overrun opponent!
And it's a giant afro-haired living tree, it can't be but loved!!!

No comments? Really? I thought he was pretty awesome back in the day! Especially alongside Mirari's Wake and other mana accel cards. He even made a cameo when ravnica came along in my casual selesnya saproling deck.

I run this guy as a commander once... (Token G/Artifact deck) and what happen is :
1) Ashnod's Altar ...nothing happen, common in token deck and then --
2) Mycosynth Lattice ...everyone beware Darksteel Forge on next turn... but --
3) Play my commander ... Verdeloth + Kicker for 7
.
.
.
Sac 8 creatures for 16 mana - Replay Verdeloth from command zone (use 2 mana) - Kicker for 8
Sac 9 creatures for 18 mana - Replay Verdeloth from command zone (use 2 mana) - Kicker for 10
Sac 11 creatures for 22 mana - Replay Verdeloth from command zone (use 2 mana) - Kicker for 14
So on... and end the game with Craterhoof Behemoth
...Yeah, MAGIC is the game for calculation.
