Decent card, although creature pump like this in white would not seen today, especially since this card has strong religious overtones...

Generally it's fine to print cards with "strong religious overtones" as long as the religion is not one that exists in real life. This card does not fit with a specific real world religion, thus it can work in Magic. It could be a blessing from Avacyn, from Heliod, from the Ancestor, from Serra, or whoever.
