This is insanely cheap for what it does. Closest comparable cost is the Dread Statuary or Phyrexian Idol.

Whoa, the oracle ruling on the site has a typo. It says it has a power and toughness just like the card does. If you look at the 9th edition one you see how it is supposed to be. Wonder if anyone higher up in Wizards of the Coast will ever notice that.

You can activate it during the "beginning of combat" step, achilleselbow. After that comes the "declare atackers" step at which point it would be a creature and could be declared as an attacker.

When I figured out that this card + Wrath of God worked so well together, my Johnny deck building explorations began.

An interesting artifact, slightly playable at it's cost...

Wait, uh...does this mean it can't actually attack? You can't activate it before you declare attackers, and if you activate it after, it's too late to declare it as an attacker, right?

Despite not being a land, it's the first card to fill the "manland" role. The first actual manland and giant pile of artifact hate that would both come in Antiquities unfortunately shortened the life of this classic stompy card. So sad, really.

Also possibly a Goblin Shrine if the Norin flavor text on both is to be believed
