Aww, poor Diregraf Ghoul. After being hunted so long, his power has gone down, and he's afraid of humans. He's gotten quicker, sure, but that's about it.
In all seriousness, a 1-drop zombie is a 1-drop zombie. Even with a downside (which won't be as big a deal outside of this block) 1/2 for 1 is pretty decent.

@wowsers
I feel like saying WOWSERS myself when I see a comment so terribly bad. Thats not how it works. All creatures have been changed now. type in any creature that was just a SOLDIER before. You'll see they are now humans or whatever other race they may be.
Seeing as they changed that for all creatures more then several years ago, its kind of appaling to see that misunderstanding as recent as July of 2012.

It's either a 1-power attacker or a weak blocker (compare to something like Pride Guardian or Young Wolf)...that also can't block most of the cards in this set. It's sad that they're so obsessed with pushing the whole "Humans win! Screw fans of previous tribals!" theme that they tack a drawback onto a creature that would've been bad without it anyway.

With this, the 1/1 undying dude at 2, and the printing of a strictly better Zombie Apocalypse hoser, it's pretty obvious AVR design team hates zombies.

This card is weak to tone down limited, for a fun environment. Most of their money is at Friday Night Magic, and the limited environment. That is their main focus when designing a set.

So this little bugger is capable of stopping an infinite cosmic monstrosity that devours planes of existance, but when our dear sweet Little Girl walks up he's all "Oh shit!"
And this is why I hate protection from tribal and it's ilk. It's all really really stupid.

Anyone else relize it is missing the "when this card comes out to the field, place (token) on your opponents battlefield"? I think it woulda been a hell of a lot cooler to have a 2/2 Zombie that spawns 2 humans on your opponents side of the field with either protection from zombies or can't be blocked by zombies :p
you know, just so they don't ruin the Hunted series.

this guy is really useful against veteran players who never updated their cards. Unless it is specifically written human it can defend against a soldier with no human context. For instance intrepid hero 2013 was human but intrepid hero before was just soldier. Prior to 2013 intrepid hero was not a human. So you can block him. Cause you play the cards as they were written I love how magic makes money in that way.
