"Hey kid, I'll trade you this Disentomb for your Entomb."

My impression is that Raise Dead sounds like the creature directly returns to the battlefield, so it's a little misleading. This works a bit better with gameplay-to-flavor connection, I think.

Maybe they went with this name because Raise Dead sounds a little too "Dungeons and Dragons" for comfort. That's all I can think of.

And HOW, exactly, is this strictly worse? They are the exact. Same. Card. Rule text and everything. Raise Dead is Disentomb. Disentomb is Raise Dead.

@HuntedWumpusMustDie:
There *is* more to MTG than card mechanics. There is not, however, more to the "strictly better" equation than card mechanics since the de***or is one of card mechanics. I'll dispense with the belittling "Learn stuff" admonition however since we have too much of that sort of behavior on Gatherer already...
FWIW, I wish Wizards would stop treating us like morons with cards like this and Runeclaw Bear. :-/

Couldn't they just reprint Raise Dead?

@HuntedWumpusMustDie, even if you do include art and flavor in the "strictly better" calculation, bkarcher42 said that that this was strictly worse even though he thinks it has better art and flavor.

@ThisisSakon
The mechanics are the same. However,The card name, art and flavor text are all different. The latter things are the reason I chose magic over other similar card games. There is so much more to magic then the mechanics of the cards.

Strictly worse Raise Dead, but unfortunately more flavorful (w/ liliana text) and better art IMO.
