Goes really will with Ghave; make all the Saprolings you can pay for (buff Ghave?) and hose graveyard decks hard.

This tends to be better against Undying/Persist as Night Soil requires two creatures, making it more difficult.
That said, they both work. In the worst case you get extra blockers and generate your own card advantage.

@Tubefox: ditto. I guess in a slower game, Necro is better, since mana is a more easily renewable resource, but in a more one-fell-swoop environment, you'd want Night Soil, which is faster. But even then Night Soil is contingent upon there being many creatures in the yards.

I love this with Attrition. Pay and you make sure that their guy stays gone. If you have Aura Shards out, you get to destroy another thing as well, which would be even better if you knocked out an artifact creature.

I would say that Night Soil is better only for the reason that its exile ability can't be responded to because it is part of the cost. Even of they have a way to counter it their creatures will be gone.

Ashnod's Altar + Necrogenesis + a creature = All creatures removed from your opponents' graveyards, and yours too, in a pinch.
I discovered this by accident facing a Mimeoplasm deck. He was not too happy. :D
