I remember this one. Mind Twist got restricted/banned, and this was the first Coercion-type card. Yes, it was too expensive back then, too.

Hmm... Unless your opponent is playing blue, by the time this is worth playing over something like Coercion, they are more than likely only going to have a few cards.

Just too expensive. With Mind Warp, you will presumably be able to make them discard their entire hand for less mana, and then picking out cards doe not matter.
Would have been really good at {X}{X}{B} though. You would get "Look at target player's hand." for {B}, then a Coercion for {X} = 1, and so on.

Y'know what this makes me think of nowadays? Diabolic Revelation. Same concept, though not as bad. Still kinda overcosted, but it is a tutor card.
