This card is a ton of fun in EDH. Just today, it stole me a game that I had no business winning.

Here's the scenario. I was playing my Brion Stoutarm deck against my friend's Jaya Ballard deck. He had a Mana Flare on the field and 12 Mountains, and I only had 4 Plains and 4 Mountains. He was at 31 life, and I was at 45 life.

During his turn, he used about 4 different burn spells (the first of which was a Past in Flames) to get me down to 17 life. With 6 cards in hand, he passed the turn. I knew that I probably had one turn to live, as his deck is somewhat based around spells with X costs. With no cards in hand, I drew, hoping to pull anything that could help my situation. In what was possibly the luckiest topdeck I've ever had, I drew Wild Ricochet. I passed the turn.

Eyes gleaming, my friend drew, then played a Banefire for 22 damage. ... (see all)

Really good card, but I think some people are confused on how it works.

Someone mentioned copying a counter to counter itself. No. That doesn't work. If wild richochet's on top of the stack, it is played. After that, it's already resolved. You can't make it counter itself. You'd have to choose other targets for that. For example, keep the original target of the counterspell, then make the other counterspell counter the first one. Still works, just not like you're thinking.

Always fun with really rigged instants or sorceries. Hymn to Tourach? Hey, noob, discard four cards!

At worst, a mildly amusing way to get card advantage. At best, this wins you the game with style.

One of the classic cards to tutor for with Sunforger in Commander.

also, I love the art with a granny giant just casually redirecting some more-than-likely humongous spell.

I do love this card. I wish I needed it more often, though.

I absolutely adore this card as a blue hoser, not necessarily because it's particularly good at it (though it's definitely good) but because it is the funniest way to stop a counterspell ever printed.

I drop a Cruel Ultimatum and my opponent tries to Counterspell it.

My Wild Ricochet is on the stack first, the first thing it does is change the target of your Counterspell, but it makes a copy of Counterspell too. So I change the target to my Wild Richochet. Then the copy of Counterspell targets the first Counterspell . Then, naturally, the Counterspell copy counters the first Counterspell which retroactively causes the Wild Ricochet to not be countered, thus protecting Cruel Ultimatum.

Oh Red, you so wacky!

And the best case scenario? Playing 2HG, or a 4-player game with a teammate diagonally.
Opponent: Mind Twist you for X.
Me: Wild Ricochet says you screwed your team by playing un-fun cards.
