Great in Ajani's deck because of all the cards that interact with lifegain, like Ageless Entity, Ajani's Pridemate and Searing Meditation.

Don't be fooled by his docile appearance indeed. A creature with a lifegift like ability. Combos with Fastbond and Meloku the Clouded Mirror for infinite life, and infinite 1/1 flyers.

Grazin' in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it

@NorintheWary, Sanguine Bond cares about life totals. With the fetchlands and green land searches you would use to power the gladeheart, you should have no trouble ramping into the {3}{B}{B} for sanguine bond by turn 3, and then proceeding to graze your opponent to death.

Think bigger people, This + Fastbond + Crucible of Worlds + Any Land Sac Effect (Zuran Orb,Constant Mists, Sunstone, Terramorphic Expanse, Evolving Wilds, the list goes on...).

Crazy Combo card when used correctly. I love to soul Foundry this card and the use Narrow escape on a Kabira Crossroads. thats 4 life right there and then at least 4 life next turn when u play kabira crossroads again. then everyturn you can play another Grazing Gladeheart. this combo is just crazy in a return life gaining deck and will surely anger some people. Just keep returning your Kabira crossroads and just keep gaining life u will gain more and more every turn and slowly destroy your opponent. have fun people!

@YokeOfTheDamned - that may be one of the most garbage 'combos' I've ever seen. If you want good lifegain synergy in white, just go with the classic Martyr of Sands and Proclamation of Rebirth for a great lategame lifegain engine. If you want it via Soul Foundry, it's easily done with something like Soul Warden or Essence Warden. Only 1 mana a turn, doesn't require any other cards, and the gain will quickly start stacking up.

@The people talking about comboing with Fastbond - Fastbond combos with an absurd amount of cards. Many players would be happy to pay 5 life to get a turn 1 Baneslayer (Fastbond, 6 lands, Baneslayer, obv on the draw). This card is still weak as; it's the brokenness of Fastbond that can make it an infinite combo.

While I do have fond memories of this guy as I once managed to include him in an infinite life combo (a very janky casual combo, white/green/blue, Ruin Ghost, Tideforce Elemental, Lotus Cobra, Gladehart), combo and lower-power casual are really the only ... (see all)

The fastbond combo I came up with is even simpler: just add a ravnica bounce land (gruul turf?) for infinite life.

I was not fan of this mechanic, because the rare fetch-lands were so expensive. Coming into play tapped can be a major drawback and loose games.

These cards really want to be used with fetch-lands, but the good fetch-lands come with a hefty price tag.
