Very Nosferatu. I like the art. It's creepy :)

9 times out of 10, playing Bloodcrazed Neonate on turn 2 is going to be better than playing this on turn 3. They both swing at the same time, and this guy will probably be turned sideways half the time anyway.

There are just too many other amazing vampires at the 3cmc slot (Crossway Vampire, the amazing new Stromkirk Captain, etc.).

And majinara ... I love EDH like nobody's business, but not every card is designed for EDH. A lot of cards that are really well designed just do not have a place in EDH at all. Reviewing cards obviously not designed for EDH with respect to EDH design is ... well, there's not really any reason for it.

Well, it's much more interesting than a Goblin Chariot, at the very least. And being a common is nice.

Largely outclassed by Crossway Vampire in Red, and completely outdone by Stromkirk Captain in Red/Black. It's not a bad card, just deeply mediocre.

A nod to Jack the Ripper, whose main victims were slum-dwellers.

It is actually surprising how often a player might be open in Commander to turn little 1/1s into bigger threats later in the game. And it's surprising how your smaller guys won't draw as much hate as other guys until you've gotten your worth out of casting them. That said, yes, there are better options for Commander. Most Commander players are probably already aware of that, and if they're not, they'll learn pretty quickly. This guy is really nice in Limited, however, and probably ain't to shabby in Casual 1v1 Constructed either.

I don't exactly know when it was that it was decided that a defining characteristic of vampires was for them to get +1/+1 counters when they dealt combat damage to another player; however, while it is a pretty cool effect, unless it is well-costed and has good evasion it usually doesn't amount to much. I, of course, am referring to Slith Firewalker, which is an amazing version of this--albeit a Slith for some reason. The real question for a 3-mana 2/1 creature is: is haste enough evasion for this to actually work? Perhaps with burn backing it up, otherwise no.

A common Slith is pretty crazy.

@ swords_to_exile They're just opinions. That's the point of a comment section. Rate them poorly if you don't like them.
