Blue is not a friendly color to creatures . . but I don't think damaging the player is appropriate for blue either. It should be more like, counter creature spells unless the player pay 
or something.

I'm surprised Wizards hasn't gone back to change this card to black, or change it's name to something like "Essence Barrier". This card is a clear flavour violation that has had players up in arms for years. We begged you to reprint a update Grizzly Bears, Wizards- BEGGED you- and you have answered our humble cries. But please, we can't have this!

Yes, if they reprinted the card it would be black/white... but this was a favorite of mine back in the day. Plenty of bounce and little fliers made life frustrating for my older brothers.
