Works well with evacuation. It's pretty funny to watch your opponent scowl as they take 10 turns to replay their elf army.

Complicated card to make it work in any kind of deck. Too expensive, so it will come late to have any effect. It also requires you to have a deck without creatures or some other tricks to bypass the effect it has on ALL PLAYERS. Potentially funny, but way too costly.

This is the one and only card to escape the reserved list by being accidentally reprinted when nobody was looking. Kind of makes you wish it had happened with Bazaar of Baghdad or Candelabra of Tawnos instead.

Wondering why this card has such a high mana cost that makes it quite unappealing since this won't help you in lategame anymore?
Well, being designed in Homelands, and following the principle that cards from this set suck in general, not many questions left about this card, are there?

If this card reduced the cost by 1 only and had a mana cost of 2 just as Sphere of Resistance, Thorn of Amethyst or Defense Grid this would find much more play and could proof somewhat useful against aggro decks.
I'm actually confident Wizards is going to provide us with such an artifact someday.
Back then in (the) Homelands (of overcautiously designed cards) it just wasn't the right time to do so.
