I can't believe this was printed in the same set and colors as Spiritmonger. A shame too, because it's a really cool effect. They really should've made a functional reprint in Alara. I think 5 mana would be a fair cost for it, though considering how broken that entire block was, they could've easily made it 4 or 3.

Its only really worth it if you kill a huge creature so you can score those tokens

the thing with this card is that gives a big creatures advantage, ok u kill an aldrazi, lets say it cost 10, u than put 10 1/1 creatures and destoyed his titan, ofc u r rarely going to splash 4 of this but its a good backup that can turn tha waves of the game at ur favor

At these prices they really should have taken of the Nonblack clause.

And what if your opponent has only black creatures or no creatures? :) When playing cards from this "mutation" cycle, you often have to make sure that you have a target that is worth it, and that often means putting this target into play yourself, like Draco.. However, Ink-Treader Nephilim is probably the best target! :)

Used this on a Myr Enforcer which was pretty cool, but I wonder if its any good otherwise. Probably because its an average of two Scatter the Seeds and a Doom Blade put together for {4} less and without having to draw two more cards to make up for playing them.

8 mana is just asking way to much, even with mana acceleration you can have so much more for 8 mana.
