Also, the flavor text boggles me, somewhat. Is the Strider some sort of sacred beast and Freyalise is forbidding strangers near it out of religious decree? Is Freyalise protecting strangers from the viciousness of the beastly Yeti and the decree is a more practical one? Or is it instead something like "God forbid" and since Freyalise is the goddess of the forest-dwellers of Terisiare, that's a popular exclamation?

Ahhh, Mr. Strider. We had some good times. You were my beat stick when I first started playing and my collection was an Ice Age tourney pack.
Nowadays a reprint would actually be R+G: +1/+1, +2/-2, or +2/+2 depending on what rarity they wanted to give it.

We all thought he sucked back when Ice Age came out. Green players used Erhnam Dijinn, Force of Nature and the such over this, even when playing red/green we'd rather use our elf and bird mana on a Shivan or something instead of this.
But as for beginners go yeah I can see the appeal.
