Not as good as Overrun, but still useful since it's an instant. Kind've a chump-block deterrent.

Way cheaper than overrun, so you can still fire off a giant growth or two.

Good in those multiplayer formats where two or more players have a simultanious turn (Archenemy, Two-Headed Giant, etc), as it boosts all attacking creatures, not just those belonging to one player.

Not as good as Overrun, but not that bad, either. It gives them trample, so it's got to be pretty good.

This came along about two years before Overrun (first printing in Tempest). Ice Age was coming off a very underpowered era in Magic. This worked quite well for what it does.
