I think that this guy is pretty decent. And as others stated, he is good at stalling the board.
So how about you guys give him some credit? He is rated far too low at the moment (2.595).
He should at least reach the 3.5 mark (or 3.25?).

In constructed, vampire nighthawk blows this thing out of the water for 1 more color weight. But it can still result in 1 for 1 trades and hold back any 2 or less power attackers.

Actually there are only about 5 or 6 Scorpions in Magic, and I would say this one IS the Best. It is the clear choice of the Scorpions that exist to be the "Iconic Giant Scorpion" creature for the Core Set.

It may be a good bit less powerful than Sluiceway Scorpion or Dross Scorpion, but since it does the job of "Core Set Flavor Design" so well, it even beats out Bala Ged Scorpion, who I would say is the 3rd Best Designed Scorpion after Pit Scorpion at #2. Pit Scorpion is sadly one of thousands of creatures victimized by Power Creep, :/

In a non-Vampires Deathtouch deck, Giant Scorpion is one of my favorite picks. :)

All the people who are hating on this thing probably never faced it. It really makes you scared of attacking.

And like the Recluse, the deathtouchin' BADASS is back.

Lovely strong and nice card here, a deathtoucher with a fat ass is never an unwelcome stalling tactic.

I like how this is in the same set as Deadly Recluse. Makes an other wise decent card look a fair bit worse.
