I have but one thing to say for the Fateful Hour mechanic: Form of the Dragon. Casual ownage, here I come!
EDIT: After having played my Dragon Cult Fateful Hour deck a few times, I've found that it exceeds expectations. I even survived an infinite Pyromantics combo by playing a Faith's Shield when I got to 5 life, and just watched the fireworks, then swung for the win.

Scary card. But then again, unless they're aggro too, you probably won't dip below 5 life anyways... and RDW could always save burn spells for the last 5 points.

Flat out better than Dragon Fodder (barring comparisons between Goblins and Humans), so it is pretty good to me.

"The hounds of Hell are on our doorstep! Quickly! Round up everyone you can! On this day, the entire village must stand together to hold back the creeping darkness! WE WILL NOT FALL!"
2 people show up.

Most exciting card in DKA.
MrBarrelRoll: I think those are crossbows. We've seen them elsewhere.

Soul Warden PLUS gather the townsfolk after fateful hour is active nets you the five humans in addition to five life, bumping your health past that five life death range.
play with immolating souleater/tresspasser to nix your life to lower numbers when neaded. With New Phyrexia still in standard, I can see some devastating plays, and easy ways to make the lower life total either cancel out or be completely irrelevant.

Anyone else notice they have guns in the artwork?

Compare Dragon Fodder.
Excellent progression with Champion of the Parish.
