w00t, first comment again.
Reasons why this card is borken as hell:
1, It defines block, standard, extended, legacy, and in some cases even vintage.
2. It's near-ubiquitous, even more so than skullclamp.
3. Every deck either runs them or runs a plan to beat them, and the decks in the first category are ususally better.
4. It's at least as common as, if not more common than, any basic lands in the format, when measured by how many copies are in each tournament.
I think this is cause for banning, personally. It's just that simple.

A staple in any blue deck.
