This guy is a permanent source of misplays in multiplayer because everyone and his mother tend to forget about his presence, always very amusing.

The flagbearers--while already being fun casual cards--would have been hilarious had they been given Flash.

notice that this also would absorb bonuses like giant growth etc, keeping opponents from playing them.

Fun play to make: put this guy out, then give him shroud. Now every Changeling on the field is a lightning rod! Also, with Indestructibility, it can save you from most red burn decks and black anti-creature decks.

Fun too because your opponent can't buff or enchant any of his own creatures while in combat.

Oh, you wanted to enchant one of your creatures with your Eldrazi Con***ion? Too bad, it's on my flagbearer now.

I have a soft spot for those guys. The proudness with which they bear their flag is astonishing. Lord, how I want to be in that number when the guards go crashing in!
And they're pretty good at what they do, i.e. demanding attentive plays from opponents and tying their hands to some degree. 4 toughness holds agains a lot more burn and shrinking than Standard Bearer's 1. And if you have a way to recurse them (with, say, some surprise Makeshift Mannequin at just the right time) or blink away from danger (Mistmeadow Witch comes to mind), the only thing to fear is mas$ removal. And creatures. Okay, not super-strong, but... fun!

I prefer Standard Bearer with Sigil of the New Dawn.

If there was only some way to make them indestructible...hmm...wait, there is some equipment that does that...
