Usefull for many creature decks (aggro and combo, especially). Not other good quality, however not bad.

Obviously will never make main deck in any situation. But considering where the battlefield of Magic is heading... We have so many powerful 2 cmc creatures that have game tilting effects. And it seems counter magic will always be a staple of any competitive tournament. This creature forces a counter magic player to exhaust a card very quickly in order to maintain control. Although the downside would be, your deck has to be exclusive to mostly creatures to effectively take up sideboard slots. Not to mention, this creature needs to be played early to maintain the balance against a counter magic player. Drawing this late game, while a counter magic player has already established control would be very unfortunate. May be better to just run Great Sable Stag, or Thrun, the last Troll to beat down the heavy counter spell decks. I would not rule this guy out completely... but if you choose to run him, you should really get familiar with your po... (see all)

Good card in creature decks. Leyline of Lifeforce is better unless you need it to be on a creature. the 1/1 body is kind of frail, but I like this card, I have played it from time to time. 10th ED had better art.

I would maindeck him in an elf deck. Or even in a creature heavy deck. So many people splash and use counters, so its worth it. Just having the security is awesome enough.
