That poor dragon can't breathe fire any more. Nowadays it has to hire pyromancers to shoot fireballs just so it doesn't feel so pathetic.

"Strictly better than Red Elemental Blast."
You can misdirect (take your pick of similar spells) away from your blue card to whatever permanent you want, making it fizzle. REB requires an additional blue spell or permanent to be turned away.

Whats the last thing that a blue control deck expects when facing a deck of any other colour? Counterspells.
Very good in a dragon deck, where having spells countered hurts in a big way. Also its low cost helps out Dragonstorm.

Came across this when I was going through some cards and my first thought was "WTF? Name-changed Red Elemental Blast?"
As with Red Elemental Blast, definitely good against blue decks. :)

@allmighty_abacus: No she just lights the flame. I've had stoves like that where there either wasn't automatic ignition or it didn't work.

Over Red Elemental Blast : Because you can target a spell and then change its color to blue or with Sleight Of Mind for example change the word blue with a word designating another colour.

@Scumbling1
Misdirect was a bad example, since Misdirect make this target Misdirect. I guess it works when destroying a blue permanent, but Shunt would work better for the more common "counter target blue spell."
