And then you take a look at Spectral Flight and say: ...Oh...

The option of flying or not can be used to avoid unexpected spells that kill either but not both (such as Hurricane and all the green flyer hate, or Earthquake and all the ground haters). Spectral Flight, of course, is still more useful in most situations.

@Demento_Recraves: The Gruul watermark on Hypervolt Grasp is a typo. Note that when you search the Gatherer for Izzet watermarks, it shows up.

A red Aura with a blue activated ability? Shouldn't this have the Gruul watermark?
@Lotsofpoopy then how do you explain Hypervolt Grasp?
Clearly we need an indicator for sarcasm.

So much better than Giant Strength, so much worse than Spectral Flight.

This card should not see play in any deck whatsoever. As ThisisSakon alluded to, if you have enough Blue mana to make your creature fly until end of turn, you might as well be using Spectral Flight instead. Pursuit of Flight is, I suppose, the very definition of a Limited filler card and makes Pauper players sad.

@ Demento_Recraves
No, that is incorrect, it has the correct guild watermark. Gruul is a red and green guild. I am a pro, so I know these things.

This is somewhat playable.
Edit: after lots of online drafting this has become an absolute sleeper hit for me. Also pairs particularly well with Ethereal Armor or Deviant Glee. You can almost get away with drafting all three if you pick up some mana fixing.

I agree with what Cyberium said, the option of flying is extremely useful, as it lets the creature avoid any flyer hate (plummet, silk-lash spider, crash landing) and lets it avoid ground-only cards (rolling temblor, magmaquake, street spasm). However, in most cases spectral flight is better if it's a blue deck.

Funny how much the limited environment affects how good similar cards are.
*cough*Spectral Flight*cough*
