This would actually be pretty awesome in limited. For most constructed venues, I couldn't see myself ever playing it. :/
(Am I the only one who actually finds lotsofpoopy's "Pros like me" comments to be hilarious? Maybe I like the irony in that way...)

I love this card :) Very flexible, very useful. You can have it as a 3/3 beefy creature, or a 2/2 not-so-beefy but have evasion and can block evasion, or as a 1/6 wall to fend off those pesky goblins.

DoubleTarget has it
It's either
Primal Clay
Artifact creature - Shapeshifter
3/3
or
Primal Clay
Artifact creature - Shapeshifter
Flying
2/2
or
Primal Clay
Artifact creature - Shapeshifter Wall
Defender
1/6
The "in addition to it's other types" clause is there to make it Shapeshifter Wall and not just a Shapeshifter. Reason being in the old days, walls couldn't attack, that was just the rule. Defender wasn't a thing. Once that changed, all walls automatically got defender, and any reprints of old cards mentioning walls needed all this janky crap added.

If the third option is chosen, it gains the Wall creature type in addition to being a Shapeshifter.

It's been 15 years, and it still hasn't decided what it wants to be...

That's what happens when you feed it after midnight.

I lOve it when old cards get reprinted. Welcome to standard for the first time since 4th, iirc. Should be a great pull in limited.

Versatile in limited, but otherwise not very good.
Glad it's not a rare anymore.

3/3 for 4 with no color requirements is pretty damn good in limited.
