I think it's pretty clear this is a woman. I mean, she's wearing armor and she's still practically naked. Looks like fantasy art to me.

Look, I realize this may be difficult to make out, given that the artist didn't draw breasts the size of overripe watermelons, but this is a woman. You know, female of the species, non-Y-chromosome possessor... is this ringing any bells?

Inexplicably one of my favorite arts from early Magic. Also, kinda sad that white's theme no longer really seems to encompass neat "bodyguard" style creatures. That was neat and on-theme.

Not he boys, definately she.

But why was she reprinted when all of her subordinates weren't?

I used to love this card. It was so on flavour.

Put a Darksteel Plate or a regeneration effect on her, then suddenly people don't have much use for attacking you. Being a Soldier ups her playability some, but many players won't get around the fact her CC is the same as Baneslayer Angel.

In Soviet Kjeldor, hawt body guard you!

Seriously, how can anyone mistake this for a dude??

Order of the Sacred Torch and Order of the White Shield are also clearly women. Looks like Kjeldor was pretty liberal on that.

She somehow has a sort of nerdy librarian look. I think it's because that visor on her helmet looks like large-frame glasses.

He can block a creature and redirect the damage of a second, pretty decent.
